Why are politicians predictably liars and crooks? And they will lie, right to your face, knowing that you know they are lying.

Tony V. didn’t speak Spanish so he had to learn it so he could talk to his voters. He’s a former labor union leader who is now responsible for negotiating with his old labor union leader buddies when its time to renew government worker contracts. No surprise the labor unions get everything they want. He gets two family members hired on, one who was also a labor union leader and another as a judge that did pro bono work fighting for the rights of illegals. Tony V., filling the ranks of Los Angeles government with socialists. And now this…

The Mayor of Los Angeles was pressed on how he managed to get free court side NBA Lakers tickets, which he is required to report by law, but failed to do so. After a minute of umming and ahhhing on an audio soundbite on 640KFI, he said they were from the NBA Commissioner and they were meeting to discuss having the 2011 NBA All-Star game brought to Los Angeles next year. Hence, the meeting was for business and not for pleasure.

Fortunately for us, politicians tend to not be the brightest bulbs in the box, which is why they become politicians. The Mayor couldn’t come up with a credible lie fast enough, so unfortunately for him, he forgot that there was already an announcement last year by the NBA Commissioner awarding LA the 2011 All-Star Game.

As recorded here, from June 8, 2009, “Los Angeles, a city with a reputation for producing highly successful sequels, and STAPLES Center, considered one of the world’s best arenas for sports and entertainment, have been selected to host NBA All-Star 2011, marking the fifth time The City of Angels and the second time STAPLES Center will be the site of the annual celebration, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced at a press conference today in Los Angeles. AEG President and CEO Timothy J. Leiweke and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa joined Stern at the announcement.”

I mean, the moron was there, and he still decided to lie right to your face, because you know what…what are you going to do about it? Nothing. And he knows it. He’s an arrogant, unintelligent political hack that just wants to milk the limelight of being L.A.’s mayor and drink down the power trip and as far as he’s concerned, you can take a long walk off a short pier.

From the Mayor’s mouth when he was elected…

“Let’s be clear: Honesty and ethics in City Hall must start at the top. We must set a higher benchmark by our actions to restore the public’s faith and trust in local government,” Villaraigosa said Tuesday.

What’s one more lie built on top of another? Politics.

Some food for thought…

Despite repeated attempts to enter Mexico illegally, many hopeful U.S. immigrants have been met with strict immigration laws and enforcement including felony prosecutions and deportation.

You have to ask yourself…why does a country with such strict and punitive immigration laws call it a crime when another country attempts to institute those very same laws?

In Mexico’s, “Ley General de Población” which is their version of United States Immigration laws, Mexican law states the following:

  • A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally. (Article 123)
  • A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)
  • Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)
  • Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)
  • Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico — such as working with out a permit — can also be imprisoned.
  • Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)
  • Foreigners who “attempt against national sovereignty or security” will be deported. (Article 126)
  • Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)

It seems Mexico has an incredibly strict and punitive immigration policy and yet their president, Felipe Calderon has stated that the new law in Arizona, “opens the door to intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement.” Calderon goes on to say, “Nobody can sit around with their arms crossed in the face of decisions that so clearly affect our countrymen.” Calderon has instructed the Foreign Relations Department to double its efforts to protect the rights of Mexicans (illegal ones, obviously) living in the United States and seek help from lawyers and immigration experts.
