The following is a simplification of the difference between a Republic (what America used to be) and a Corporate Fascist State (what we are becoming):
In a Republic
Your Income: $45,000
Taxes: $0.00 or next to nothing
Tuition Expense: Whatever you want to set aside for it
Medical Expense: Whatever you want to spend on whatever type of insurance you want
Housing Expense: Whatever you want to set aside to save for it
Retirement Expense: Whatever you want to set aside to save for it
Disposable Income: $45,000
Savings: Whatever amount you want it to be
Dependence on Government?: NONE
Freedom?: TOTAL
In a Corporate Fascism/Socialism State
Your Income: $45,000
Taxes: $40,000 (spent on the following only – you have no choice)
Tuition Expense: $10,000 whether you want that amount or will ever use it
Medical Expense: $10,000 whether you want that amount or will ever use it
Housing Expense: $10,000 whether you want that amount or will ever use it
Retirement Expense: $10,000 whether you want that amount or will ever use it
Disposable Income: $5,000
Savings: None
Dependence on Government?: TOTAL
Freedom?: NONE
For the confused, the takeaway here is that in a Republic you are free to save for your own future with your own money because you get to keep it all. You can spend or save your money on whatever you want. You can save for as much or as little tuition, health care, retirement, or housing as you want.
In a fascist/socialist state, the government takes all your money from you so you don’t have any left and therefore can’t save for anything for the future and so MUST rely on the Government for everything, and you have to take whatever they offer you, no matter how good or bad it is or if you even want or need what they are offering at all.
