Forget about being a Republican.
Forget about being a Democrat.
You must suspend, at least for a moment, the blind belief of your “team” and consider what it means to be a citizen of the United States. A country that was based on a Constitution that protects personal freedoms and civil liberties, one that empowers the people and severely limits the role of government in our lives regardless of what color it is.
Our government would like to return to a time honored tradition of totalitarian rule and is asking the citizens of this nation to turn in their neighbors and anyone else who deals in the peddling of offensive anti-government propoganda smut such as these right wing extremists you can see on this video, or me….it’s all the same to them.
If you don’t believe that our new government is interested in knowing who is making arguments against them, where they are and what they are saying, please read on and see for yourself…
“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”
This is from our governments own website, from the White House itself, which you can visit by clicking here.
The government would like you to forward any emails or blog addresses (such as mine) about the health care reform act to their attention. In addition, if you have had any casual conversations with friends, family or coworkers, they would like you to report that to them as well.
Regardless of your color, regardless of your position on the health care reform act…you must have that gut feeling that I have from a government requesting this of us. It just doesn’t feel right.
I especially like the use of the term, “fishy.” The United States government would like you to email them anything you think seems a little fishy…perhaps a bit off…a little south of cheese, a tad bit unusual, marginally excessive in nature, weird or otherwise makes you go hmmmmmm.
I’ll tell you what…the government asking me to forward them emails from my friends and family smells the most fishy. If you forward this blog address to even one other person, friend family or complete stranger…as far as the government is concerned, you are now part of the problem, not the solution, and they are hoping that whoever you might send this link to will turn you in by forwarding that email to the White House. How’s that make you feel?
Odd that they are asking for our help to turn each other in because they “can’t keep track of all of them [emails and casual conversations] here at the White House” and yet seem to have enough time to sit and sift through thousands of emails about our neighbors anti-government statements. The reason for this is simple…they can search for blogs and websites that talk out against government expansionism, but without being completely illegal, they cannot monitor internet traffic emails. They can figure out who is writing the blog or the website, but they want the authors of the emails as well. They want names and they want to know what is being said between family members and between friends. The government wants to read your emails, know who you are and know who you are sending emails to.
Our government, not being the brightest bulb in the box, also decided to use the term “flag” in their email address. I don’t know about you, but whenever I “flag” something at work, it’s generally something wrong with whatever I am looking at, something that needs to be “fixed.”
Their first sentence also suggests that they are not interested in any websites or casual conversations that support their healthcare plan which I might add could just as easily make overstated claims of its benefits, espousing the greatness and wonderfulness of it by making unsubstantiated statements or downright lies about what the plan will do. The government only wants emails and casual conversations about people who are talking negatively of the their plans to take over the universe.
As some of you may remember from school, some of the governments we had learned about that asked its citizens to report on their neighbors included the U.S.S.R and Nazi Germany. Someone tell me why our government feels the need to implement fascist tactics in a free Republic, where blogs such as this are protected under the First Amendment…at least for now.
