Tony V. didn’t speak Spanish so he had to learn it so he could talk to his voters. He’s a former labor union leader who is now responsible for negotiating with his old labor union leader buddies when its time to renew government worker contracts. No surprise the labor unions get everything they want. He gets two family members hired on, one who was also a labor union leader and another as a judge that did pro bono work fighting for the rights of illegals. Tony V., filling the ranks of Los Angeles government with socialists. And now this…
The Mayor of Los Angeles was pressed on how he managed to get free court side NBA Lakers tickets, which he is required to report by law, but failed to do so. After a minute of umming and ahhhing on an audio soundbite on 640KFI, he said they were from the NBA Commissioner and they were meeting to discuss having the 2011 NBA All-Star game brought to Los Angeles next year. Hence, the meeting was for business and not for pleasure.
Fortunately for us, politicians tend to not be the brightest bulbs in the box, which is why they become politicians. The Mayor couldn’t come up with a credible lie fast enough, so unfortunately for him, he forgot that there was already an announcement last year by the NBA Commissioner awarding LA the 2011 All-Star Game.
As recorded here, from June 8, 2009, “Los Angeles, a city with a reputation for producing highly successful sequels, and STAPLES Center, considered one of the world’s best arenas for sports and entertainment, have been selected to host NBA All-Star 2011, marking the fifth time The City of Angels and the second time STAPLES Center will be the site of the annual celebration, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced at a press conference today in Los Angeles. AEG President and CEO Timothy J. Leiweke and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa joined Stern at the announcement.”
I mean, the moron was there, and he still decided to lie right to your face, because you know what…what are you going to do about it? Nothing. And he knows it. He’s an arrogant, unintelligent political hack that just wants to milk the limelight of being L.A.’s mayor and drink down the power trip and as far as he’s concerned, you can take a long walk off a short pier.
From the Mayor’s mouth when he was elected…
“Let’s be clear: Honesty and ethics in City Hall must start at the top. We must set a higher benchmark by our actions to restore the public’s faith and trust in local government,” Villaraigosa said Tuesday.
What’s one more lie built on top of another? Politics.
