Senator Obama opposed raising debt ceiling in 2006. President Obama supports raising debt ceiling in 2011. Did I just define the word, “Politician?”

In Obama’s speech yesterday, he railed against Republicans for blocking efforts to raise the debt ceiling, while using scare tactics to get the American people to accept the idea.

But four years ago as Obama the Senator, he opposed raising the debt limit and blamed Republicans for bad leadership and even said that America had a debt problem. What the hell is wrong with this guy?

In yesterday’s speech, Obama claimed that failure to raise the debt ceiling might cause our children to eat toxic food due to cutbacks. WTF? This is one mean President. All he wants to do is scare the sh** out of you to get what he wants. Then later in the same speech, he claimed he does not want to use scare tactics. Isn’t saying that we would serve toxic food to our children unless we raise the debt ceiling a scare tactic?

I am inclined to agree with Mark Halperin from MSNBC who was refreshingly honest about Obama’s speech when he described Obama as being, “a di**.” I agree Mark…I agree.

As odd as this may sound, Obama as the Senator in 2006 agreed with today’s Republicans. At that time, Obama spoke out against raising the debt ceiling. As follows…

Five years ago, then-Sen. Obama (D-Ill.) voted against raising the debt ceiling and even spoke about it on the Senate floor before the Republican-controlled Senate voted 52-48 to increase it.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure,” Obama said on March 16, 2006. “Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.” ~Senator Obama

Let that sink in. The Obama of 2011 is demanding that we raise the debt ceiling but the Obama of 2006 was condemning it as a “leadership failure.” And he was right, it was a leadership failure back then, and it is still a leadership failure now.

But now, Obama is the leadership, which means, according to his own words, he is the failure. Finally…Obama got something right.

Obama…EPIC FAIL.
