In a recent post I talked about a ridiculous Homeowners Association that was keeping an honored War Veteran from flying a flag in his front yard, and showed you the letter I sent to the Association.
According to Fox News, he won his fight.
It only took an act of Congress to get the Association to back down. Senator Jim Webb from Virginia wrote a letter asking the Association to, “consider the exceptional nature of Col. Barfoot’s service when considering his pride and determination in honoring our flag.”
Meanwhile Whitehouse Press Secretary Robert Gibbs summed it up nicely in one word when he said the Association’s request was, “silly.”

This was only one example of the ridiculous application of rules that can happen in an HOA. My most unfavorite is compulsory landscape maintenance fees – which increase the amount you pay for your home by tens of thousands of dollars over time.
I moved into an HOA almost 3 years ago – after I thought I had checked things out thoroughly. Boy, was I wrong.
I’ve developed an informational website to help others check out benefits, issues and potential problems before they buy. I hope everyone that sees this comment will visit it: http://www.CeresGleannLife.info .
Thanks and good luck with your HOA experience,
Robert
